Some vehicles will be costlier after the application of G. S. T, whereas some vehicles will be more pre-priced. Following the announcement of Bajaj Auto’s reduction in the prices of its motorcycles by Rs 4,500 recently, Royal Enfield has also announced reduction in prices on some of its models.
New prices will be effective from June 17. After Bajaj, Royal Enfield is the second largest company in India, which has offered the benefit of G. S. T to its costumer. These discounts will be given at the bike’s ‘on-road’ price. G. S. T It is going to come into force on July 1. In view of this, the profit will be different in each state and motorcycle, which is the current tax and G. S. T There will be differences in size.
Chennai-based motorcycle maker company Royal Enfield has Welcomed G. S. T. The company believes that it will be easy to operate in many areas including automobiles. There the company will also increase the motorcycle size of 350 cc engine capacity. Under G. S. T Most of the two-wheeler under tax will be taxed at 28 per cent, which is less than the current 30 per cent tax. In this case, motorcycles up to 350 cc would be cheap, while the above would be expensive. G. S. T in the motorcycle above 350 cc, the tax will be 28% and 3% cess. That is, the motorcycle with a capacity exceeding 350 cc is 31 percent tax.
In its statement, the company said, “Royal Enfield on the behave of government welcomes G. S. T. We believe that G. S. T in India, the economy will change and customers will benefit from it. Royal Enfield is already providing the benefits of G. S. T and going to change the on-road prices from 17 June 2017”.
